The premier outdoor outfitter on the southeastern coast has a limited number of summer 2009 internships available!
Outside Hilton Head has been offering activities for residents and visitors to Hilton Head Island for 30 years. We feature kayak nature tours, history excursions on Daufuskie Island, fishing programs and a variety of unique and personalized boating programs. In addition to our daily offerings from our locations on Hilton Head Island we feature team and leadership development programs from Page Island. The Page Island Growth Center is a unique lowcountry backwater island that offers the areas best venue for high quality team and leadership development programs and group events. If our activities are not enough to keep you busy our two retail locations feature kayaks and paddling accessories, sandals, shoes, sunglasses and other gear necessary for any outdoor adventure.
Our intern program has been in existence for over ten years and features the opportunity to learn on the job in a great outdoor environment. Interns for Outside Hilton Head have come from a variety of fields including outdoor recreation and tourism, recreation management, business administration and retail management. Interns generally rotate through various positions at Outside Hilton Head such as kayak/nature guide, retail sales, retail merchandising, reservations and office management. We offer a fun, diverse and exciting working environment that will help improve your business skills, leadership skills and help you learn how to build relationships with co-workers and clients. This internship is ideal for those seeking a career in sales, outdoor recreation, retail management, business or related fields.
Outside Hilton Head interns work 50 hours per week. You will get two days off each week to enjoy all that Hilton Head Island and the South Carolina Low Country has to offer. Relax on the 12 miles of beach, play golf at any one of the great courses on and around Hilton Head, or get out on the water and explore on your own. We offer a terrific employee benefit program and allow interns and employees access to our equipment during non- peak times. Other employee benefits include great deals on clothing and accessories and better discounts on guide related gear needed for work. Interns will pay Outside Hilton Head $250.00 for guide training of which $150.00 will be returned upon successful completion of the full contracted term of the internship.
