Whether you're looking for high-speed excitement with jet ski rentals, a relaxing day exploring with a pontoon boat, or a unique group experience aboard the Tybee Tiki Boat, we have something for everyone.  

 Tybee Island Watersports is excited to offer a hands-on Internship Program designed for individuals passionate about the maritime and hospitality industries. This immersive experience provides interns with the opportunity to gain valuable skills through a rotation of roles, including customer service in the reservation office, dock operations for jet ski and pontoon rentals, crew member responsibilities aboard our USCG-approved Tiki Boat, and retail operations. This program is perfect for motivated, customer-focused individuals looking to expand their skill set while enjoying a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

 Key Responsibilities include:

Reservation Office

• Answer customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing detailed information about rentals, tours, and services.
• Manage reservations and scheduling using our booking system.
• Ensure excellent customer service by assisting guests with check-ins and answering questions.

Dock Operations

• Assist with jet ski and pontoon boat rentals, including guest orientation, safety briefings, and equipment checks.
• Handle docking procedures, including fueling, securing vessels, and cleaning equipment between uses.
• Provide support to ensure a safe and organized dock environment.

Tiki Boat Crew Member

• Work aboard our USCG-approved Tiki Boat, assisting the Captain and ensuring passenger safety and enjoyment.
• Provide exceptional hospitality by engaging with guests, offering refreshments, and enhancing the onboard experience.
• Assist with safety protocols, including life jacket distribution and passenger briefings.

Retail Office

• Support retail operations by stocking merchandise, managing sales, and maintaining a welcoming storefront.
• Assist customers with selecting products and answer questions about our offerings.
• Help track inventory and maintain a clean, organized space.

• Develop a well-rounded understanding of operations within the watersports and tourism industry.
• Gain experience in customer service, safety protocols, and maritime operations.
• Learn effective teamwork and problem-solving in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
• Enhance interpersonal and communication skills through direct interaction with guests and team members.

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding tasks.
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and random testing throughout the internship. 

• Housing on Wilmington Island (roughly a 12 minute drive to Tybee Island Marina)
• $500 stipend will be paid weekly (less housing expenses) 
• Gratuity is shared between crew members.
