Vagabond Cruise

Vagabond Cruise offers more than twenty unique excursions and tours throughout the year and carries roughly 90,000 guests on it’s four United States Coast Guard Certificated Passenger Vessels.  At Vagabond Cruise we pride ourselves on hiring hard working, enthusiastic, people-orientated individuals and giving them the tools to succeed and grow with the company.

The Vagabond Cruise internship consists of three main areas of focus.  

• POS – Reservations Crew 
• USCG maritime enrolled deckhand Steward 
• Working along side our F&B Manager and Event Coordinator 

The Vagabond Cruise reservation office is in Harbour Town at one of the most visited areas of the island. Here you will learn our POS system, answer phone calls for reservations, run cash drawers, learn inventory control, communicate with vessels for safe boarding practices, and much more.   

Apart of the Vagabond Cruise internship you will be enrolled in the United States Coast Guards Maritime Consortium. You will be a trained Deckhand aboard our 100+ ton vessels and an active crew member. You will rotate through the entire Vagabond Cruise fleet as a Deckhand and learn your responsibilities for each vessel to operate.  

Anything that involves food and beverage aboard a ship is Steward. In this role you will be working with the F&B Manager regarding public Dinner Cruise operations. You will also gain experiences within events as well. Vagabond Cruise hosts roughly 200+ events each year including weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate outings, bachelorette parties, and much more.

• Someone who is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field 
• Someone who is outgoing and energetic 
• Someone who has experience with POS software
• CPR certification is required before the start of the internship 
• Knowledge about boating is preferred, but not required 
• Must be able to provide your own transportation to work

• Housing on Hilton Head Island will be provided 
• $500 stipend will be paid weekly (less housing expenses) 
• Gratuity is shared between crew members aboard all vessels
